coldest with frost possible. we still have another hour of cooling to go. frosty around the bay and average temperature is 30 at 7:00, and sunny and 46 at noon, dress for temperatures below average and near 50 at 4:00, and you will need the coast as we are down to 41 at 7:00 a hard freeze with low-to-mid 20's in the north bay but milder in the east bay with a lot of upper 20's. about 45 degrees at 4:00, and quickly dropping into the mid-30's at 7:00 and at cost we have frost and 31 at 7:00, and we will hang on to the mid-40's with chilly sunshine and upper 30's by 7:00. >> we have a high wind advisory on the benicia bridge is canceled. so it is calmer right now. we have on muni, 23, 41, 489, 71

routes all are expensing longer than normal wait times and bart, though, is running on time there at 44 trains. over the altamont pass, we have a report of an accident westbound 580, c.h.p. is out there trying to locate it but generally speaking you are on the brights headed away from tracy to dublin. here is how it looks with numbers. 52 minutes in the westbound direction and highway 4 building at half an hour from antioch to concord and 101 is clear from san rafael into san francisco. >> in this morning all lanes of better state 880 are open again after a big rig hit the safety barrels at 5th avenue sending sand and debris over the freeway forcing the shutdown of all lanes before 3:00 a. the lanes just opened but expect slowing as caltran keeps the exits closed while the safety barrels

>> mike? >> a couple more days of freezing and then it shifts inland. good morning, everyone, coming up on 6:16 with croix air and lack of clouds that keeps us milder than what we are dealing with this morning. we will start in the north bay for some of the coldest temperatures, santa rosa and petaluma at 20 degrees and mill valley at 27 degrees. about 24 degrees in novato and 23 in american canyon and sausalito is close to freezing, same in calistoga and bodega bay at 34. san francisco is at 37 degrees and half moon bay, as well, and cupertino and lafayette looking good. san ramon is 40 in the hills but in the valley toward 680, it is 28 degrees. we have 12 degree microclimate over a mile and a half to two miles. sutro tower is cool, but it is a

"spare the air" day with all of the sunshine and it will be hazy from time to time, and freezing cold and most of us tonight and slowly warming afternoons will translate into slowly warming overnight temperatures, too, but not today, upper 40's to low 50's. san jose the high was 47 degrees almost a record cold high tomorrow. the record is 46. tonight, we are in the 20's in most neighborhoods and low-to-mid 30's around palo alto and richmond and half moon bay and mid-30's around oakland and san mateo and the least likely areas to see frost the tonight we have high pressure over the ocean and the jet stream to the arctic circle and pulling down the cold air. we will lose the influence of that as the high becomes more dominant and the flow will bring us an offshore wind so we are going do see a little bit in the way of warmer temperatures. you can see in the east bay veal at san ramon at 40, the breezes are up in the higher elevation. the seven-day forecast show

so they may have some sustained i minor injuries. westbound 580 at highway 24 we have an accident involving an a.c. transit bus with 25 passengers. and highway 24 is slow the closer you are to the maze. >> the bay area cold snap cannot go away which could mean a slippery hazardous monday morning commute and we continue coverage of the frigid temperatures. amy hollyfield is on highway 24 in the east bay. we have an advisory with black ice. we were rolling on our iphone, hands free, and it was on the stab board but we caught that when we hit the patch of ice and you will notice you get your balance thrown off. but you keep both hands on the

wheels and you will be okay. especially if you are going slow. that is the c.h.p. plea: slow down. you will get through it. >> let your car slow down the wheels will regain traction and you will have control of the car. >> let me tell you where this was, we were westbound on highway 24, in orinda at the exit and there was a patch in the number four lane and in the eastbound direction c.h.p. says there is a tricky lane at a patch at this exit. traffic is moving jut fine. i checked with the c.h.p. and they say they have not had any problems reported. it is out there, not getting warmer out here, and it could be
